Are you tired of working all week long without having time for your family and friends? Are you tired of having no savings or disposal incomes and having your credit cards maxed out? Are you tired of having a boss and not being able to decide what is best to do? Would you like to find a legitimate small home based business opportunity? This could be the solution to transform your life: have time for your family, no more traffic, no more boss and the flexibility to manage your time and efforts. I am a PhD in molecular biology and I used to work for a governmental laboratory. I had no previous experience as an entrepreneur and no knowledge about home based business jobs. With commitment, drive and focus, I then quickly developed good expertise as a small home based business entrepreneur.

Is there any successful work at home job experiences that we can trust? Yes, actually there are many legitimate small home based business successes that we can trust. Some of the most common questions asked are: “how to recognize whether a small home based business opportunity is a scam or a legitimate offer?” “How to identify real legitimate small home based business opportunities?”

These are several elements you should check and there are warning flags.

1. Avoid small home based business opportunities which announce easy money, money obtained quickly with just a few hours of work, or which guaranty you can get rich fast. Really, as for any kind of job, with legitimate small home based business opportunities, you will not get rich in a few days. You need to work, invest time and energy on a regular basis, especially when you start. But at the end, you will have real money in your pocket and your destiny in your hands.

2. Never send money to start your job. Legit small home based business does not charge you to start working. Do not accept a request to give your bank account information, so the employer could pay you without having officially joined the company. Well written scams are known to fraud you that way.

3. Search for reference about the company. A company offering legitimate small home based business will be happy to give you information about exactly what you will be doing. Ask about testimonials and referrals from other workers of the company.

4. If it seems too good to be true, consider this offer is not true! Use your judgement and as soon you get a little suspicious, stay away. There are many good offers out there, so do not take a chance with suspicious offers and take your time to find one your comfortable with.

Here are examples of work at home scams:Posting Ads

Completing surveys

– You will take lot of time to complete surveys, for just a few cents, and will usually never see the color of your money at the end.

Register on a site offering free way to make money in minutes

– Most often, you will be redirected to a Virtual casino link, and asked to play with your Real money. Of course, the offer will tell you that you will win for sure a lot of money! But it is money games, with no chances of making more money that what you spend to play. It is not a work and you will lose a lot of Your money in the game!

Stuffing Envelopes

– It is a classical example of work at home scams. There are still people claiming that you can earn $3 or $4 per envelope to stuff them. All major companies have postage machines which stuff, sort and meter mail for pennies a piece!

Legitimate work at home jobs listing

– Sites offering to provide you with information on only legitimate work at home jobs – for a nominal fee, of course – represent the worst example of scam!

Wikinews interviews 2020 Melbourne Lord Mayor Candidate Wayne Tseng

This article mentions the Wikimedia Foundation, one of its projects, or people related to it. Wikinews is a project of the Wikimedia Foundation.

Thursday, October 22, 2020

2020 Melbourne Lord Mayor candidate Wayne Tseng answered some questions about his campaign for the upcoming election from Wikinews. The Lord Mayor election in the Australian city is scheduled to take place this week.

Tseng runs a firm called eTranslate, which helps software developers to make the software available to the users. In the candidate’s questionnaire, Tseng said eTranslate had led to him working with all three tiers of the government. He previously belonged to the Australian Liberal Party, but has left since then, to run for mayorship as an independent candidate.

Tseng is of Chinese descent, having moved to Australia with his parents from Vietnam. Graduated in Brisbane, Tseng received his PhD in Melbourne and has been living in the city, he told Wikinews. Tseng also formed Chinese Precinct Chamber of Commerce, an organisation responsible for many “community bond building initiatives”, the Lord Mayor candidate told Wikinews.

Tseng discussed his plans for leading Melbourne, recovering from COVID-19, and “Democracy 2.0” to ensure concerns of minorities in the city were also heard. Tseng also focused on the importance of the multi-culture aspect and talked about making Melbourne the capital of the aboriginals. Tseng also explained why he thinks Melbourne is poised to be a world city by 2030.

Tseng’s deputy Lord Mayor candidate Gricol Yang is a Commercial Banker and works for ANZ Banking Group.

Currently, Sally Capp is the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, the Victorian capital. Capp was elected as an interim Lord Mayor in mid-2018 after the former Lord Mayor Robert Doyle resigned from his position after sexual assault allegations. Doyle served as the Lord Mayor of Melbourne for almost a decade since 2008.

Western Australian economy at crisis point say builders

Saturday, June 7, 2008

Western Australian Master Builders Association (MBA) yesterday demanded the Carpenter Government call an emergency cabinet meeting to avoid a “state of emergency” over the energy crisis gripping WA. A MBA spokesperson said that hundreds of workers have already been stood down, many without pay, and that the cost of building material is soaring.

The Minister for Energy, Fran Logan has admitted that the gas shortage caused by Tuesday’s fire is damaging the economy as mining, manufacturing and construction industries wind back operations. Western Australia’s two major brick producing companies have shut operations and Wesbeam’s $A100 million Neerabup pine production facility has been closed, their 130 employees have been stood down.

Wesbeam chief executive James Malone said, “It’s an industrial tsunami in my view. It’s a little ripple that has very quickly had a huge multiplying effect on the whole community”.

Michael McLean, Master Building Association director said “It’s a worst-nightmare scenario, and not one we could have imagined in our wildest dreams,” building supplies are expected to start running out by the middle of next week.

Premier Carpenter has announced a meeting of ministers and industry representatives to take place on Sunday to discuss solutions to the growing crisis. Tim Wall, managing director of Apache Corporation has said Apache is conducting a worldwide search for the parts need to repair the pipeline.

Major mining companies and Apache partners BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto have already reported they are suffering with the loss of gas supply; the Chamber of Minerals and Energy has talked down the effect saying that they don’t expect the crisis to take the heat off the booming mining industry.

Opposition leader Troy Buswell has describe the performance of Fran Logan as “absolutely dismal” noting that Mr Logan had experienced a similar incident in January this year, when a fire at Woodsides Karratha operations had a similar effect.

How To Choose Retail Paper Bags

Businesses need to provide retail paper bags to customers. In some situations, these businesses are moving away from the use of traditional plastics and instead are looking for a solution that focuses more on environmentally friendly papers. However, there are many things to think about when it comes to selecting the best bag for your customers to use. As a business, even these simple things will make an impression on the customers who come into the door to buy from you. Keep in mind that you do have numerous choices. What to Consider When it comes to selecting the appropriate retail paper bags for your place of business, there are numerous factors to keep in mind during the process. Many suppliers offer a large selection of sizes and styles. Some are ideal for the type of need you have, but it is up to you to define what you need and why you need it. Here are a few things to consider when choosing. Consider the most common type of merchandise purchased at their store. What type of bag is best for it? For example, in a wine store, it is necessary to select a bag that’s appropriate to hold a single bottle upright in it. If the store sells mostly box-like objects, square or rectangular options are best. Consider the thickness of the product, too. If you have mostly larger items or very heavy items, your customers will need a way to carry those items that is strong enough to handle the added weight or the bulky size. Look for a more durable and thicker product to buy here. Consider the advertising options. When that bag gets to the home of the customer or into the marketplace, it needs to show the name of the business. This provides a key avenue for increasing brand awareness while also providing a way to advertising virtually anything from the company. Budgetary concerns are something most businesses take into consideration as well. Keep in mind that some products offer more for less. Buying in bulk can also improve the costs associated with the process. Quality does matter. Does it need handles? Does it need to be a smooth texture? Does the look need to stand out? There are many factors to consider in making a simple bag something that fits your business’s needs. When selecting retail paper bags for use, you need consider all of these factors carefully. Determine which one is the best overall fit for the business’s customers and needs. You want the customer to be proud to carry it throughout their daily lives so you get that boost of advertising necessary.

KKE: Interview with the Greek Communist Party

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Wikinews reporter Iain Macdonald has performed an interview with Dr Isabella Margara, a London-based member of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). In the interview Margara sets out the communist response to current events in Greece as well as discussing the viability of a communist economy for the nation. She also hit back at Petros Tzomakas, a member of another Greek far-left party which criticised KKE in a previous interview.

The interview comes amid tensions in cash-strapped Greece, where the government is introducing controversial austerity measures to try to ease the nation’s debt-problem. An international rescue package has been prepared by European Union member states and the International Monetary Fund – should Greece require a bailout; protests have been held against government attempts to manage the economic situation.

China calls Japan’s gas drilling plan ‘a serious provocation’

Thursday, April 14, 2005

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told reporters that China is protesting Japan’s plan to allow drilling for gas and oil in disputed waters in the East China Sea, characterizing the move as “a serious provocation”.

On Wednesday, Japan announced that they would begin processing applications to allow oil and gas drilling firms to explore in the disputed area, east of the “demarcation line” which has held up applications to drill in the area for decades.

“The Chinese and Japanese positions differ on that matter, but we need to continue talks from a big point of view, without inflaming conflicts, and to turn the sea of conflict into a sea of coordination,” Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi told a news conference.

Qin Gang said that China reserved “the right to take further reaction,” according to Xinhua.

“China has never ever recognized and will never recognize the demarcation line,” Qin told reporters.

Japan’s exploration of the disputed zone could start early next month, and will be defended by Japanese military vessels, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Arsonist behind Namdaemun gate fire in Seoul imprisoned for 10 years

Friday, April 25, 2008

The arsonist responsible for setting fire to the historic Sungnyemun gate (more commonly referred to as Namdaemun gate) in Seoul, South Korea in February has been sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment. The 600-year-old landmark was considred one of the nation’s greatest and most iconic, with some sources describing it as the single most important one in the country.

The 69-year-old male defendant has a previous conviction from two years ago for attempting to torch the Changgyeong palace, for which he received a suspended prison sentence and was fined. It is understood he destroyed the Namdaemun gate and attacked the palace over an unconnected land ownership dispute which had angered him. He felt that the compulsory purchase of his home a decade ago had been inadequatly compensated for by the state.

After the fire, residents left flowers at the scene and wrote grieving notes.

Chae Jong-Gi, who admitted the crime, was told of the seriousness of the offence in a statement by the Seoul district court. “A heavy sentence is inevitable as the accused inflicted unbearable agony on the people and damaged national pride… (The monument was) the treasure among all treasures which had survived all kinds of historic disasters. Even if restored, the gate’s originality will never return. Therefore, the nature and consequences of this crime are very serious,” said the statement.

The man is thought to have selected the gate as a target due to lax security measures. In the fire’s aftermath, officials have been criticised over this and concerns that firefighting efforts were ineffective, and the Cultural Heritage Administration‘s chief resigned to show he accepted responsibility for the blaze.

The two storey gate in pagoda style was constructed in 1398 and despite a 1447 rebuild and multiple renovations still contained original timbers prior to the destruction in the fire. Only the stone base survived.

According to the Cultural Heritage Administration, a reconstruction effort will take two to three years and cost 20 billion won (US$21 million).

Flat Fee Real Estate Can Save You Thousands Of Dollars

Flat Fee Real Estate Can Save You Thousands of Dollars

Selling a home in today’s market can be a difficult task. A few years ago when the real estate market was hot you could put a “for sale” sign in the ground and have your house sold within just a few hours. This is certainly not the situation any longer…

Today, if you want to sell your home, you must be listed in your local MLS. It’s estimated that 90% of all homes sold in the United states are listed in MLS. This enables your home to be seen by the most people looking for a home including other real estate agents and their customers.

As a seller you have a couple of options to get their house listed in MLS…

One possibility is to use a realtor. However, in doing so you’ll have to pay around 6% of the sale price in real estate fees. Based on your sale price this could be thousands of dollars.

One more choice, which is becoming more and more popular, is to use a flat fee real estate agency.

If you go with a flat fee real estate service, you have to pay a one-time flat fee in order to have your home listed in MLS. The majority of flat fee real estate services charge anywhere from $299 to $799. That is a considerable savings over the 6% you’d probably be paying to a traditional real estate agent. Keep in mind however, using a flat fee real estate service, although you might get extras like a “for sale” sign, lock box, and even listing brochures, you will not likely have anyone holding open houses or any other form of advertising and marketing for you. In essence you become a FSBO or “for sale by owner”.

The advantage of using a flat fee real estate company is that you can save yourself from 3% to 6% in real estate fees. You still need to pay any real estate agent who delivers you a buyer (the buyer’s agent) his share, in most cases 3%, but if you find a buyer on your own you will not need to pay any fee at all.

Consider that… if you are using a flat fee real estate service and sell your home for $250,000 you save from $7,500 to $15,000 in real estate fees. That’s a major saving by anyone’s standards.

French workers use threats in compensation demand

Friday, July 17, 2009Following similar threats by workers at New Fabris and Nortel, workers at JLG in Tonneins, France, threatened to blow up several platform cranes. The JLG factory announced in April 2009 that it will fire 53 of its 163 workers by the end of 2009, while the remaining 110 jobs will not be secure over the next 2 years.

JLG Tonneins was acquired in 2006 with its parent JLG Industries, a maker of aerial work platforms, by the U.S.-based Oshkosh Corporation. Despite being hugely profitable in the past, production has been much reduced since 2008 with the contraction of the construction industry and lower demand for its products. Despite excellent past results the new American management demanded sweeping cuts at the company.

In the view of locals, “the company’s actions are a disgrace given the expensive perks, such as official cars, for its corporate fat cats, compared to the sacrifice, silence, and dignity demanded by the company of those it has made redundant.”

The management offered severance pay of 3,000 (US $4,200), however the workers demanded a severance package commensurate with “the wealth that their labor has generated.” Worker’s delegates requested a “supra-legal” payment of € 30,000, on Thursday 16 of July the management responded with a counter offer of € 16,000. On Thursday night the worker’s actions secured the € 30,000 settlement initially demanded.
