The best explanation for this type of plan is an insurance policy of sorts for the things in the home that keep residents comfortable, safe, and happy. Other types of services that are included in an energy savings agreement would be checking for frayed or broken wires, looking for leaks in the refrigeration unit, checking to make sure that the fans on both the furnace and air conditioner are functioning as they were intended to, making sure that the freezer is defrosting properly, checking fuses and breaker boxes, making sure that light fixtures are functioning properly, looking for shorts in the wiring, and other types of things that may make a home run less efficiently.
If an energy savings agreement is available to a customer in their area and they would like more information about it, they can call or visit the website of their local power provider or licensed HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) service center. They will find out exactly what the cost of this type of a plan will be, and what the schedule is for maintaining a preventative maintenance program.
It only makes sense to consider this type of plan. After all, people insure their lives, their vehicles, their homes, their children, and the many different types of recreation such as RV s, boats, campers, jet skis and motorcycles; it only makes sense to ask for the same type of coverage for the things in the home that make them happy, keep them comfortable, and maintain their lifestyle.
The adage that says an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure is absolutely true and definitely holds even truer for the things in the home that are relied upon. The last thing anyone would want to deal with is an air conditioner that isn t working when it is 105 degrees outside!
